Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show – March 20th – 24th 2024
Elissa Astorino becomes the first ever Canadian garden designer to be invited and accepted to design a garden for Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2024, the second-largest flower show globally.
Scheduled to take place at the World Heritage UNESCO site of Carlton Gardens and The Royal Exhibition Building. Elissas’ vision will come to life through a collaboration with Victoria based Semken Landscaping.
In addition, she will be joining up with the Melbourne based contractor to work on the featured show garden design by Peter Donegan MSGD.
With the support or The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County and Dementia Australia, Elissa aims to raise awareness about dementia through her garden.
The garden tells a story of unconditional love between a mother with dementia and her daughter. It aims to show that even when the sun has set and the sky at times clouded, there are always stars to brighten the night.
She anticipates sharing this narrative at the show, shining a light on dementia and showcasing the resilience of love.
