Myself and Ben French from Yards Pty. Ltd. had the opportunity to meet with Patrick Handley from Waterscapes Australia to speak about natural swim ponds.
Natural swim ponds are chemical free swimming pools that use plant life to maintain the water quality. These swim ponds are an eco – friendly and sustainable alternative to chlorinated swimming pools.
We visited Lake Gkula, which was designed and constructed by Patrick and his team. This lake is recognized as Australia’s largest conservation and recreational lake. Lake Gkula contains a wide range of native fish and plant species and is enjoyed by those who camp at the grounds and attend the Woodford Folk Festival held in December.
I would like to thank Ben and Patrick for their time in helping me learn more about natural swim ponds. It was an absolute delight to visit this beautiful lake.
